Ok zombie movie fans. I hate to say it, but I was disappointed with the latest installment of the Resident Evil Franchise. Let me start off by saying the visual effects and 3D were awesome. Even the things that didn't jump off the screen were crisp and stood out more than just your average 2D movie experience. The plot of Afterlife however moved about as fast as the zombies in it. And speaking of zombies, where were they? I think most of us zombie crazed movie goers out there go to films like this for (drum roll please)...zombies! While there were some really kick ass action sequences (see Ali Larter vs. The Executioner) waiting for the action to start was kind of a drag. In addition, unlike its predecessors, Afterlife doesn't really give us a chance to get to know or get attached to most of the characters we meet before they succumb to their grisly fate. All in all, I'd say, if you are a fan of 3D, by all means check out this movie. But if you are a zombie addict like myself, you might find it leaves you wanting more. If you like this film or films like it, here are some of my personal favorites: Shaun of the Dead The Descent 28 Days Later Night of the Living Dead So, there's my input movie fans. Until next time!
